The Lord Provides...ALWAYS!!!

When we entered seminary, it seemed as though vicarage was light years away, and now it is within our grasp of 2 1/2 short weeks. Within those weeks, we need to start and finish packing, move, and get settled into our new apartment. We are so excited for this next phase of our life- we have heard nothing but good things about our vicarage congregation.

The one thing that kept us up at night was a job for me (Jess), which the Lord foresaw and provided! I will be teaching 1st and 2nd grade at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Midcity, OK. We were blessed by a visit from our principal this past weekend; his visit settled our minds and answered many questions. I am excited about finally teaching and having the summer OFF!!! YAY!!!

Stay tuned for pictures of our move, new apartment, new classroom, and congregation...

Call Day

After 2 long years of waiting and anticipating where we will spend our 3rd year of seminary, we found out last night at a special service.  Both of our families were able to join us, which made the occasion even more special.
Waiting for everyone to fill up the chapel

Greeting Grandpa and Grandma
Dear friends headed to Royal Oak, MI
 Mom and Dad Smith

 Sitting Around
 Kerry, Mary, and Aaron
 The group outside the chapel
 On the way to dinner
Todd and Kelly received a call to Wentzville, MO

We both woke up yesterday with butterflies in our stomach that prevented us from eating lunch, but they were soon alleviated with the start of the service.  Neither of us had too many expectations because we know that the Lord has ordained a special place and ministry for us, so we were excited to learn where we were headed.  After a 45 minute service, they announced that we were headed to......

Edmond, OK
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
Words cannot describe how excited we are to move this summer and start the next phase of our ministry.  We know that the Lord is guiding our steps and will continue to do so as long as we trust in Him.
We were able to meet out supervising pastor, who is also the DP for the area, so that calmed our nerves and answered many of our questions.

Christmas Cookies....Christmas Cookies....Christmas Cookies...

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is that of baking cookies- lots and lots of them.  I grew up baking with my mom, so continuing the tradition in our family was only natural.  With only two of us though, we don't bake as many as my mom, but we bake the ones that taste the best!!

Spritz Cookies

Coffee Shortbread

Sugar Cookies

Butterballs

Yes....they are as good as they look!!
